Cookies & local storage.
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This page lists the cookies and browser-storage entries WHSU uses. We keep this list short on purpose — we don’t run third-party display advertising and we don’t use cross-site tracking pixels.
1. Strictly necessary
- Authentication session. When you sign in to admin tools, our hosting platform (Base44) sets a session cookie so you stay logged in across page loads.
- CSRF / security tokens. Set during sensitive form submissions to prevent cross-site request forgery.
2. Functional (localStorage / sessionStorage)
These entries stay on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. Clear your browser storage to remove them.
- Saved events & saved deals. The events and deals you heart on the site are stored locally so they persist across visits.
- Audience preference. The Local / Visitor / Relocator toggle on the home page remembers your last choice.
- Family page scroll position. When you click into a Family section, mode, or activity, we remember where you were so the page puts you back in place when you return.
- Map legend & explore filter state. Recently used filters on Explore and the map legend toggles are remembered for the session.
- Query cache. @tanstack/react-query caches recent API responses in
IndexedDBso the site loads faster on return visits.
3. Analytics
We collect aggregate, non-identifying analytics (page views, referrer, device class, basic timing metrics) through the Base44 platform’s built-in analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or other third-party analytics scripts on this site.
4. Third-party embeds
When you load a page that contains a YouTube video, an Instagram reel embed, or a Mapbox map, those providers may set their own cookies under their domain. We don’t control those cookies; see each provider’s policy for details.
5. Managing cookies
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing them will sign you out of admin tools and reset your saved items, audience preference, and family-page scroll memory. The site will continue to work normally.
